The IPT squad is announced at prize giving at the Closed Tournament. To be eligible for selection, a player needs to fulfil all of the following criteria:
- Participation in the Closed Tournament.
- Participate in any other Joburg Junior Squash tournament (SOS, Open or Graded).
- Participate in any SA Schools Squash approved tournament (this can be a Joburg tournament or any other region).
- Attend a minimum of 3 squad training sessions during the year, one of which must be the squad training session on the day of the Capping Ceremony.
- Successfully completed the relevant level Marking and Refereeing course.
To determine the IPT teams and a player’s position in the team, the Ladder is used. All tournaments and challengers contribute towards the ladder. A player’s final position in the Closed Tournament is not necessarily the same as their Ladder position.
